[Shri S Phani Kumar asked:- The three strongest worldly bonds are also justice in Pravrutti because loving the wealth to give to children, loving children and loving the spouse are justified Pravrutti (Worldly life) only. In Nivrutti, justice is violated for the sake of God. When a devotee commits suicide for the sake of God, here also, justice (that one should not kill himself/herself) is violated for the sake of God. In such case, why God objects the test for fascination to own life?]
Swami replied:- You are correct in saying that justice is violated in all the four cases for the sake of God. The four cases are Dhaneshanaa (fascination for wealth to be given to children), Putreshanaa (fascination to children), Daareshanaa (fascination to spouse) and Praaneshanaa (fascination to one’s own life) in which fascination to the four items, which are other than God is common. In such case, the fourth test must be taken by God like the prior three tests. But, why is God not taking the fourth test at any time like the other three tests? What is the specialty in the fourth test? Stealing a mustard seed and stealing a pumpkin fruit from another person’s house are not the same sin quantitatively. Even though qualitative similarity of stealing is common in both, there is a lot of quantitative difference in both the cases (one case is fascination for the three strongest worldly bonds and the other case is fascination to one’s own life). If you do sharp analysis, there is a lot more of logical analysis in the fourth test. The fourth test means suicide, which is destroying the opportunity given by God through this human birth for reaching and uniting with God (Yoga). In the prior three tests, such loss does not exist. Therefore, you cannot equate the prior three tests with the fourth test. Of course, there are cases in which the devotees have sacrificed their life for the sake of God proving that God is more dear to them than their lives. Such suicides are generally stopped by God.
When Ramakrishna Paramahamsa jumped on a sword, God protected His life. When Mira drank a cup of poison, God protected her life. The reason is that they shall do the propagation of spiritual knowledge and devotion in the world. But, God did not save the 12 Gopikas, who jumped into the fire after God left the gross body. The reason here is different. These 12 Gopikas, if saved by God, will live in this world undergoing agony every minute and will be unable to carry on the divine propagation. They will be happy only if they are with God Krishna in Goloka. This is an exceptional case. This case is the super climax of devotion, which is beyond the topic of Sthitaprajna (balancing the mind to do the propagation work of God in this world). There is nothing extra in the case of the 12 Gopikas because God gives the same place and loves the devotees equally, if the devotees do the propagation work of God in this world. Such devotees will also go to Goloka or Brahmaloka to get permanent association with God. Such devotees remain with God after death in the upper world and also come along with God into this world when God takes human incarnation. Even the 12 Gopikas accompany God to this world for assisting the work of God getting constant association with God here.
