[Śrī Anil said: This question is related to the following verse from the Bible: Romans 8:13 For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
A devotee said that this verse talks about the Holy Spirit due to which all Christians are one with the spirit of God (Paramātmā). But this privilege has come with a very high price. He was trying to say that Christians are washed by the blood of Jesus and have been cleansed of all sin. He says that even Lord Viṣṇu has sinned. He believes that Christians get eternal or everlasting life in the highest heaven and can see the face of Paramātmā, whereas, Hindus undergo rebirth or go to impermanent realms or achieve mokṣa. He feels that Hindus are wasting the tremendous opportunity to know God and His love, by not following Christianity. Swami, could You please give a reply to this?]
Swami replied: This question is again based on foolish, conservative and fanatic blindness. The subject-matter of all religions is one and the same. The same God has revealed that common subject-matter to mankind by incarnating in human form in different regions, following the different languages and different cultures of the people in those regions. Yet, I wonder how such petty childish ideas are still alive! The spiritual concepts from the Bible mentioned above are excellent. But apart from that excellent divine knowledge, the poisonous mockery of other religions pains Me a lot. Even a pot of milk turns poisonous upon the addition of even a drop of poison.
