[Shri Anil asked: Paadanamaskaaram Swami, I request You to give the answers for the following questions, at Your Divine Lotus Feet-anil. A question from internet forum.]
1. Why does not Krishna stay permanently for our guidance?
Swami replied:- If the teacher teaches the class continuously without giving any interval, the students can’t absorb the teaching properly. Between one and the next incarnation, there shall be a gap just like the student goes to home and studies what the teacher taught.
2. How do Gods and Goddesses live their lives? Are they vegetarian or non-vegetarian?
[A question from internet forum.]
Swami replied:- The energetic media of Gods and Goddesses are made of inert energy and food for those media is also inert energy supplied from cosmic energy.
3. What is the meaning of baptizing with holy spirit and water?
[Questions on Bible verses: I (John the Baptist) baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He (Jesus) will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. [Matthew 3:11]. What is the meaning of baptizing with holy spirit and water?]
Swami replied:- Water has physical significance only. Bath with spiritual knowledge-fire is the bath with spirit. John says that Jesus will come to baptize with fire.
4. Does this verse refer to the contemporary human incarnation of God?
[And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and He will dwell with them. They will be His people, and God Himself will be with them and be their God. ‘He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” [Revelation 21:3-4]. Is this verse refers to the description of contemporary human incarnation of God?]
Swami replied:- Exactly correct.
5. What is the essence of the following verse?
[Proverbs 25:2 says, "It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, and the glory of kings to fathom a matter". [James 1:13]. What is the essence of this verse?]
Swami replied:- God, the spiritual King, in human form will kindle the brain with true spiritual knowledge, which is against the matter that introduces sleep (Tamas) to the brain. Worldly kings attach more importance to the materialistic worldly life.
6. How to correlate this verse with the concept of contemporary human incarnation of God?
[So Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for Him. Hebrews 9:28. How to correlate this verse with the concept of contemporary human incarnation of God?]
Swami replied:- The human incarnation relieves the climax devotees from the fruits of their sins by taking those fruits on to It. Such devotees help the world by the propagation of true spiritual knowledge. To give the fruit of this divine service, God will come once again.
7. What is the essence of the following verse?
[Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation. [1 Peter 2:2]. What is the essence of this verse?]
Swami replied:- Pure spiritual milk means the true spiritual knowledge mixed with aspirationless practical devotion-sugar.
8. Why did Jesus ask the rich man to do charity?
[Jesus answered (to a rich man), “If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow Me.” [Matthew 19:21]. In this verse, why Jesus asked the rich man to do charity?]
Swami replied:- A rich man is always greedy because through greediness only, he became rich. The growth of his wealth indicates the growth of his greediness.
9. Why does God need rest on 7th day?
[Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it He rested from all the work of creating that He had done. [Genesis 2:3]. Why God needs rest on 7th day?]
Swami replied:- Rest actually means a break in continuous activity. This break is assumed as rest for God. The human being always superimposes its qualities on God so that it can understand God more conveniently. The concept of human incarnation is also based on this only.
10. Whom is the following verse referring?
[Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. John 1:3. Whom this verse is referring?]
Swami replied:- This refers to God in unmediated and mediated states since God is one and the same in both the states. Unmediated God created the medium of the mediated God. The mediated God carried on further creation.
11. How to test the spirits here?
[Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.[ 1 John 4:1]. How to test the spirits here?]
Swami replied:- We have to differentiate the spirits from God and the worldly spirits by analysing the spiritual knowledge preached by them. A spirit is the soul in energetic body. Both angels and worldly ghosts are spirits only.
12. Why are God’s ways and thoughts higher?
[As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts. [Isaiah 55:9]. Why Gods ways and thoughts are higher?]
Swami replied:- Your doubt is correct because instead of the word ‘higher’, the word ‘highest’ should have been used because God is the highest. The word ‘Brahman’ meaning God is also derived from the root meaning ‘highest’.
13. How can we correlate this verse to the contemporary human incarnation of God?
[This is love: not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. [1 John 4:10]. How can we correlate this verse to the contemporary human incarnation of God?]
Swami replied:- There is no difference between God and human incarnation. Our love to God is not true because our true love is entirely on the fulfilment of our selfish desires with the help of God. The love of God towards souls is true because there is no necessity for God to fulfill His desires with the help of any soul. There is nothing that is not attained by God and there is nothing to be attained by God (Āptakāmasya kā spṛhā…- Veda).
14. What is the lesson that can be learnt from this verse?
[Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver [2 Corinthians 9:7]. What is the lesson we can learn from this verse?]
Swami replied:- If the devotee is implementing practical devotion, his/her sacrifice to God should be with full pleasure just like the pleasure of parents while giving their property to their issues since such sacrifice of parents to their children is based on true love to children. In business devotion also practical devotion exists, but, cheerfulness does not exist because there also true love does not exist since aspiration for equivalent practical boon from God exists in the devotee.
15. How to apply this verse in present time?
[Sitting down, Jesus called the Twelve and said, “Anyone who wants to be first must be the very last, and the servant of all”. [ Mark 9:35]. How to apply this verse in present time?]
Swami replied:- The devotee shall be like the servant not having any trace of ego so that the master-God is very much pleased.
16. What is the meaning of ‘death’ in the following verse?
[Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in Me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in Me will never die. Do you believe this?”. [John 11:25-26]. What is the meaning of ‘death’ here?]
Swami replied:- Here, death means slipping from the grace of God. Sage Sanatsujaata also says the same that forgetting God is the real death (Pramādākhyo mṛtyuḥ…).
