Speeches of Shri Datta Swami In First World Parliament On Spirituality Part-3

22) All the Incarnations Are Same:-

All the incarnations are same since the same unimaginable God exists in all the incarnations, human or energetic. Hence, the possessed power by all incarnations is one and the same. The difference lies only in the quality and quantity of the expressed power suitable to a spiritual program planed in the incarnation. Based on the difference in the expressed power, incarnations are classified as:- Kalaa or ray or a radiation of 1/16th part of total power expressed (sage Kapila), Amsha or part or 1/16th part of total power expressed (sage Vyaasa), Aavesha or temporarily charged by God for a work (Parashurama), Puurna or full or 12 parts of total power expressed (Rama) and Paripuurnatama or fullest or all 16 parts expressed (Krishna). Hence, one shall not differentiate one incarnation from another incarnation based on the expressed power and shall find equality of all the incarnations in view of the one and the same total power possessed. A professor teaching LKG class expresses very little of his knowledge. The same professor teaching a PG class expresses his full knowledge. The expression depends upon the requirement and standard of the class. We should respect the professor equally whether he is teaching LKG class or PG class.

23) Worldly Logic:-

Worldly logic must be confined to the studies of imaginable examples in the world and shall not be extended to the unimaginable God, His links and His actions, which are also unimaginable. When we observe the mud and pot or God and chain, the former is cause and the latter is effect or product in both pairs. In the worldly logic, the cause disappears from its place when its effect is appearing. The cause enters the effect and hence, disappears from its original place. When this imaginable space or creation appears from God, God does not enter the world and does not disappear from His original place. As per the worldly logic, the effect is not appearing unless the cause disappears from its place. But, in the case of unimaginable God, the world appears while God remains the same in His place (unimaginable domain). Even when God incarnates fully in this world, God remains intact in His original place! As per worldly logic, if a person has gone outside from his house, he should not exist in his house. As per the worldly logic, the cause entering the effect pervades all over the effect and becomes omnipresent so that you can find cause everywhere in the effect. But, in the case of God, God is beyond the world and is absent anywhere in the world so that every item of the world is rejected not to be God (Neti Neti- Veda). Whenever God likes to enter the world, He enters the world as incarnation without disappearing from His original place (Unimaginable domain), which is beyond this imaginable world (imaginable domain). You can only say that the human incarnation alone is God in this creation. An exact example for the creation of the world by unimaginable God is the human incarnation creating inert and non-inert items through miracles. The only difference, which can be neglected, is that unimaginable God is not seen while creating the world whereas the same unimaginable God in human form is seen while creating the same items of the world. The human form of God is for our convenience to see Him, who can’t be even imagined! This means that God alone can be example for Himself since He is the only unimaginable item. While studying the spiritual knowledge, you must use worldly logic in identifying the items of the world like soul etc., to reject those as not God. When you study about unimaginable God, His link with world and His actions, you must come out of worldly logic and be a good boy to accept everything possible or impossible to be possible in the case of omnipotent unimaginable God! By such dual behaviour only, like electron, you will be able to understand the points of spiritual knowledge in smooth way without tension!

24) Eternality of Soul:-

Eternality of soul is imagined by the ambitious followers of monism in foolish way without taking the help of scientific analysis, which clearly proves that the soul or awareness is a specific work form of inert energy generated when the inert energy functions in a specific nervous system. The inert energy is generated by the digestion of food. Hence, the Veda says that soul is generated from food (Annat purushah). These people don’t understand even the clear statement of the Veda, the basic authority. This relative awareness generated in human being also disappears in the deep sleep when nervous system doesn’t function in rest. At the end of deep sleep, awaken state appears in which nervous system starts functioning and the soul appears again drawing the stored information from brain in the form of pulses or signals (sphota). It takes birth every day and dies everyday (Nityajaatam... Gita). The eternal, absolute and unimaginable awareness of God exists even before the creation of energy and matter from which the imaginable relative awareness existing in human beings differs totally. The eternality of this relative awareness or soul is falsely assumed to be true based on the false argument that in deep sleep, the soul exists while enjoying the happiness received continuously, which is expressed in the beginning of awaken state (This is the version of Advaita philosophers.). The truth is that the immense happiness appearing in the beginning of awaken state (due to long rest of nervous system in deep sleep) is enjoyed by the soul immediately. From this enjoyment appearing at the end of deep sleep, the soul of the Advaita philosopher is falsely inferring the enjoyment of happiness during the past deep sleep also! This inference is not correct since non-application of inference (Avyaapti) is agreed by logic as in the case of fog not showing the fire (From smoke, fire is inferred and this is Vyaapti. Ayaapti means the failure of Vyaapti in the case of fog-smoke, which doesn’t lead you to fire.). The experience of happiness during the deep sleep is not experienced at all by any soul during the deep sleep. After death, the soul along with all its thoughts may leave the gross body and travel in energetic body and this need not demand the necessity of eternality of the soul seeing the following example:- A computer is working in day time and is closed in the night, which is like the soul with a gross body. The information from the computer is transferred to cell phone functioning continuously in the journey. By this, do you think that the computer is also continuously working and eternally functioning since the cell phone is working continuously during the journey? The same current (awareness) and the same information-file may exist in both computer and cell phone. By this, you can’t establish that the computer was also working continuously day and night without break! The non-eternal soul in the gross body is continued in the energetic body, which doesn’t mean that the computer also worked continuously since the cell phone having the same information is working continuously in the journey! The eternality of the soul is with respect to the perishing gross or subtle body, which is relative reality only and doesn’t mean the real absolute eternality of the God as said in the Gita (Na hanyate hanyamaane shariire).

Awareness is simply a specific form of inert energy, which can be generated by the inert energy functioning in a specific nervous system. The inert energy is drawn by the gross body (computer) from the source, which is food (the electrical connection in the house) with intervals. The same inert energy is drawn continuously from cosmic energy (battery) in the case of subtle body (cell phone) in the journey. Buddha told that soul is discontinuous nervous energy. Eternality can’t be claimed for a discontinuous form of energy due to altering awakening and deep sleep states. The information stored in the brain chip is present constantly, which can be erased at any time by salvation and hence, this is also not eternal.

25) God is Unimaginable:-

God is unimaginable doing any work due to His omnipotence. He thinks and due to this, He need not be the relative awareness, which is found in human beings generated from inert energy in nervous system. He can be called as unimaginable awareness, which is unimaginable God itself since two unimaginable items can’t co-exist. He can burn everything and He need not be the relative fire as found in the world. As unimaginable God, He can think and burn and He need not be awareness or fire respectively. Advaita philosophers say that both God and soul are awareness basically (unity) and difference is that God knows everything and soul knows little. Based on the same logic, when God burns everything, the soul shall burn little, which is not found at all. Hence, you can’t confine God to be awareness only since God has not only property of thinking, but also, the property of burning. You can say that soul is awareness only and has the property of thinking only and not the property of burning since it is not the fire.

 26) God Alone Can Descend:-

God alone can descend. Unimaginable God did not enter the entire world like a worldly cause entering its entire effect and hence, God is not omnipresent. Due to omnipotence, He can be omniscient, for which He need not be omnipresent. He enters this world into a selected soul and is present in incarnation only due to His expressed unimaginable nature through miracles. He is not present even as the basis of this world since it is maintained just by His will only. When the human incarnation creates an article, it exists itself without being maintained by Him. Even if you dig this world to find out its basis, you can go up to space only and can’t cross space to catch its generator, the unimaginable God. Hence, you can never become unimaginable God by your effort since you can’t cross the link between space and God. Only, the unimaginable God, by His will, can cross this link and become you as incarnation. Even if you concentrate millions of times thinking that you are God, you can’t become God. You can’t lift even a big stone by this process and becoming omnipotent God can’t be even dreamt! Even a demon like Ravana lifted the hill by the grace of God pleased with his devotion and this practical achievement never appears in the Advaita philosopher, who rejects devotion feeling that he is already God! Gaining self-confidence has its own limits by which you shall not think that you can do everything!

27) Constant Devotion to God:-

Constant devotion to God is the best path for any devotee. In the incarnation, God becomes equal to you through His total merge with you and this is done by His will only. If you remain His devotee forever, which is in your effort, God may become even your servant, which is higher than incarnation. If you see the story of Ambarisha, who is devotee of God, sage Durvaasa being incarnation of God, had to surrender to Ambarisha for protection! Lakshmana was the incarnation of Adishesha, who is top most servant of God, served God Rama in unimaginable way! In his next incarnation as Balarama, God Krishna became his younger brother and served him. Balarama is included in the ten incarnations of God even though he is not the direct incarnation of God, like a non-IAS officer is conferred with IAS degree in view of his long valuable service. This means that the devotee can become the incarnation of God also while standing as devotee!

28) Rituals for Departed Souls:-

Rituals for departed souls must be understood in proper way. If you donate food, clothes and offer some money as dakshinaa to a deserving receiver, the merit (Apuurvam or Punyam) generated by such donation will protect the departed soul and yourself also. For this, the date (death date of departed soul) and the place are not at all the significant factors. The only significant factor is the deservingness of the receiver. Are you not postponing the ritual to next day if eclipse falls on the death date? When you can alter the date for this simple reason, can’t you alter the date for the main reason that a deserving receiver is not available? If the receiver is undeserving, instead of merit, sin is generated that harms you and the departed soul! A blind tape recorder-priest without knowledge is always undeserving for any ritual.

The priest says that if you don’t give food to a receiver, the departed soul suffers with hunger! The departed soul is in energetic body drawing the energy from cosmic energy as food and has nothing to do with the materialistic food taken here by the receiver. But, this statement can be taken as ‘Arthavaada’, which means a lie told for some good purpose. Based on this lie, even a greedy person performs the ritual and if the receiver is deserving, not only he, but also, the departed soul is benefited. The present priests shall stop the blind recitation of the Veda and shall spend all the time in studying its knowledge, which is to be propagated in the ritual and thereby becoming a deserving receiver. The Veda says that the deservingness of the receiver comes by the spiritual knowledge and by the non-aspiration of any fruit from the other side (shrotriyasyachaakaamahatasya).
