Should devotees help the sick overcome their sickness through miraculous means?

[Smt. Suganya Raman asked: Padanamaskaram Swami! Thank You for every blessing You are showering in my life. Dear Swami, many a time, I have come across strong devotees who try to help people around them, especially the people who suffer from severe illness or diseases, by giving them ash or any material in the name of God and tell them that it will be cured. They do it out of love. Sometimes it gets cured and sometimes it might not. Even in Sai Satcharitra, it is mentioned that the udi, when given and taken with faith, cures diseases.

My doubt is that now if every difficulty (like illness in this case) is due to one’s previous karma, will the prayers of a sincere devotee trying to help the sick person get cured with all good intention lead to a cure? Or will the illness, which is a karmic fruit merely get postponed to the future with increased severity? Should the devotee pray to God to cure a sick person in this manner, or is it good to let the person be and undergo the suffering in the present? For the cure to happen, is the deep devotion of the praying devotee alone is enough? Also, if true devotion means aspiration-free devotion, then is wishing for the cure of another person’s illness, also considered to be an aspiration on the part of the sincere devotee? At Your lotus feet, Your servant, Suganya Raman]

Swami replied: This concept is a mixture of all vegetables cooked as food. That food is spiritual knowledge. The final decision lies with the ultimate God. Whether the fruits of the soul’s bad deeds are given to the soul in the form of a disease leading to continuous suffering or whether they are postponed with interest or whether they are cancelled due to the soul’s reformation, depends on the decision of God. God’s decision is always correct. Whether the soul is really reformed or not, the omniscient God alone knows it. But be sure that God never uses His omnipotence without a proper justified reason. The devotee suffering from the disease and the devotee curing it or failing to cure it are only the visible show-dolls. The entire show depends only on the decision of God, which is always perfect on the grounds of logic and justice. There is none to question God, even if He does something without logic and justice. But He will never do such a thing since He is omniscient and His decision is always based on proper reasoning. No part of the justified system of deeds and fruits is hurt in any angle by His decision. We are not omniscient to understand the total background of His final decision. But be dead sure that He cares about logic and justice.
